| This documentary does not seem
to be neutral, and it has been made by professional people who were
not in Fallujah at the time those facts happened. More than 100 journalists
were embedded together with Marines in Fallujah to inform about the
operation Al Fajr.
The documentary has been broadcasted one year after the events happened.
However, while making this report, the journalists have not asked for
any comments about the hypotheses they were formulating. If they had
done so, they would have been told that American forces did not target
civilians nor use indiscriminately the weapons referred to in the documentary.
The American forces participating in the coalition Operation Iraqi
freedom, use the whole range of legal weapons against legitimate targets.
The United States do not use napalm or white phosphorus as chemical
weapons or as a surrogate. The United States have destroyed their last
stock of napalm in 2001. We still have E-134 bomb, Fire, MK 77 Mod.
5. MK77 bomb is not napalm, its chemical composition is different,
it is not outlawed or illegal.
The United States have not used MK77 bombs in the Al Fajr operation.
The only case MK77 was used during Iraqi Freedom Operation is when
in March and April 2003 Marines used it against legitimate military
targets.
To claim that American forces have used white phosphorus against human
beings during the Al Fajr Operation is simply incorrect. The United
States have used white phosphorus as smoke candles or to mark targets.
If it is used this way, white phosphorus is not outlawed, illegal or
banned.
Iraqi security forces and multinational forces have been engaged for
two and a half years in operations against terrorists, insurgents or
members of the old regime. To this regard this conflict has been waged
as all the others conflicts in modern history. Coalition forces make
great efforts to avoid the loss of innocent victims, in spite of the
practices of terrorists, insurgents and members of the old regime of
using civilians as human shields and to perpetrate attacks against
Coalition forces in areas inhabited by civilians. This is the true
story and is reported by journalists world wide.
